Dr. Ravi Modani
Dr. Ravi Modani is the CEO and Business Development Director of Ambuj Group. He is also the core promoter of Ambuj Ventures India Private Limited.
He joined the family business in 1992 and has been responsible for the strategic direction and development of its businesses. Dr. Ravi Modani is a third generation entrepreneur.
Right from his joining the group, he has been instrumental in bringing transparency, new ideas, and modern management systems into business. Initially he faced lots of obstacles and criticism in this family owned business, where the senior management was working for the group even before he was born!
His penchant for MIS, systematic working, transparency and processes, led them to get the best names in the industry.
He can be called a process and systems guy. Once the processes and systems are set, he fully delegates the day to day operations.
He is a keen photographer, is into graphology, vastu and acupressure. He is a voracious reader and loves reading self help books, apart from biographies and management books.
He attended the world's first succession planning programme for entrepreneurs, conducted by EDI (Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad), in 1991, named as ` Succession Planning for Entrepreneurial Continuity'.
He is a fast decision taker and has a vision that the world is a global village and that distances now are only physical. All his expansions, diversifications etc. are based on these theories and have reaped good benefits to the group.
In the year 2004, the group saw a restructuring and further delegation of operations to individual CEO's and also the new avatar of the group as Ambuj.
Dr.Modani is an active philanthropist and member of various charitable trusts.
He was born in Rath, in Uttar Pradesh, India on September 4, 1970, and graduated from Department of ABST, University of Rajasthan, where he received a Master of Commerce degree, in Accounting and Business Statistics. This was followed by his Doctorate on Working Capital Management of Tobacco companies in India.
He writes a blog and is a regular contributor to various publications. He has also been closely associated with various international and national organisations, viz., TiE, Institute of Directors, Leo Club, Lions Club International, Rotary Club, Interact Club, Advertising Club, Neelkanth Development Society etc.
He is married to Suman Modani, and has three sons, Vedant, and twins, Kartikeya-Shashwat.
